Naylor House is the perfect getaway for anyone seeking a taste of real New Zealand. Nestled in a beautiful green valley in northern Southland, surrounded by the Hector Mountains on one side and the Eyre Range on the other, Naylor House is a little bit of country heaven. Queenstown is only a 45 minute drive away.
Trout fishermen will love the opportunity to fish in Mataura River, the river with the reputation for New Zealand’s best trout fishing, and nature lovers will be able to tramp through acres of local countryside and take in the awe inspiring majesty of the nearby mountains.
This is the original Naylor House homestead which was built in the 1870’s of local schist stone and has been lovingly renovated by the great grand-daughter of its original builder and owner, Jonas Naylor. Naylor House is part of the Northern Southland Heritage Trail.

Fully self–contained and self-catered, Naylor House is available for single party bookings only. The homestead sleeps up to six people. There are three bedrooms – 1 king/twin, 1 queen ensuite and 1 twin.
